Ms. LeVasseur is from the Rochester area of New York. There she attended RIT college and studied art. She has traveled and lived in Europe extensively, spending most of her time there in Rapallo Italy.

In 1981, while in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she met Greg Cornish, a quadriplegic and a portrait artist. They fell in love and decided to move to California to make it easier for Greg to be mobile. They first settled in Sonoma, California and enjoyed the serene lifestyle of the wine country for 15 years. They then moved to Lake County so Greg could again be near water as he was in Minnesota. Together they enjoy boating and swimming. While Greg enjoys fishing Barbara prefers gardening and her many animals.

She began experimenting with glazes and tiles in 1982, determined to become a tile artist. She remembered the wonderful tile and mosaics of Italy and the lengthy life of the tile paintings. They would endure long after canvas paintings were gone. She also recognized the beauty of the tile.

After creating custom tile and tile paintings for a few years, she began to notice refrigerator magnets in the most elegant of customer's homes. Most were not very attractive. She realized she could create an attractive "designer" magnet very inexpensively and sell large numbers of them.

Since they are all ceramic handpainted individual works of art we call them Miniature Tile. They happen to have a convenient magnet on the back.

Over the next few years Barbara developed a business that furnished hundreds of stores nationwide and worldwide with her miniature tile. She tries hard to keep her designs centered on things associated with food, floral patterns, kitchens and gardening.

Greg converted his art to computers and maintains Barbara's website. He also helps her with sales and marketing.

Soon after establishing the website, Barbara began to get numerous inquiries for custom miniature tiles to be given out as wedding favors. They were in the price range that people can afford to give to their wedding guests as a remembrance of the occassion. We have since designed a wedding favor site at our wedding magnets site.
